Experiential Theatre Based Learning
About Us

Theatre at work helps you to change your organisational culture

We provide a dynamic learning experience, offering participants an opportunity to view a situation, question assumptions, explore perspectives and practice skills in a safe, risk-free environment.

We work with you to create tailored cultural change programmes to develop and enhance your team.  Scripted scenarios, forum theatre plays and skills practice techniques are used with your whole team in mind, from leaders and managers through to frontline sales and service teams.

Workshops featuring forum theatre, scripted scenarios or case-studies are developed in partnership with clients and tailored to address specific objectives. Sessions can be created to work independently or delivered as part of an existing programme or event.

Deepwater-Horizon-Safety-Training-Workshop

DEEPWATER HORIZON

On April 20th 2010 the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig, operated by Transocean, exploded and eleven men lost their lives. But four months earlier in the North Sea on another Transocean rig, there had been a near miss with eerie similarities. In this hard hitting play we see the dramatic events onboard the Deepwater Horizon on the day of the disaster, and we follow the investigations as they uncover negligence, poor regulation, inadequate maintenance, catastrophic decision making and what the US authorities described as ‘a reckless disregard for safety’.

This programme gives you greater understanding of an often challenging issue: workplace bullying. Designed to stimulate individual awareness at all levels, the workshop will support organisations in dealing with bullying effectively. Through facilitated discussion and live interaction this session brings psychology to life in a three-dimensional way and will challenge your thinking; exploring the human factors and biases often at play. We meet Alan and Michael who are experiencing difficulties at work; each of whom have a very different perspective.

FALLOUT

Based on an incident that happened in Ireland, this story explores some of the human factors that can influence a culture of safety on site. Through live interaction and facilitated discussion we focus on attitudes, choices and the influence of planning and contractor dynamics on risk awareness and safe practices. Used in a workshop setting this scenario also allows participants to examine their own role in influencing a culture of safety through effective safety conversations.

Mousehole-Responsibility-Training-Workshop

This is the tragic and true story of a horrific death onboard an oil rig. A man is being hoisted in a harness towards the ‘Mousehole’, a trapdoor in the deck of the rig. His harness slips and instead of hanging vertically, he is dangling horizontally. A radio fails, a crane operator operates blindly, and a man dies. We start after the incident has happened and go back in time to uncover the attitudes and behaviours which contributed to a fatality.

TheWayWeWere-Safety-Health-Wellbeing-Training-Workshop

THE WAY WE LIVE

What sort of person saves lives? Richie tries to be that person. A tragedy which befell him and his wife Marie changed forever the way they live their lives. Every action is scrutinised, every risk identified and every method challenged – at home and at work. This is safety evangelism of the highest order, but in this case it comes with a cost.

Zero tolerance of risk is commendable in any environment; home, office or site. However it can be difficult to implement and a poorly considered approach may prove less than effective. When a colleague offers to help Richie and Marie move house the scene is set for a series of difficult encounters and dramatic discoveries.

Operational and office-based teams at all levels, in any industry
